Well-padded Hips Provide The Body With „Good“ Cholesterol And Prevent Blood Vessels From Calcification

If you belong to the women who hate their bum, now you can sit back and relax. According to the 'Daily Mail', scientists of the Oxford University have found that the fat on our bums is healthy. Their study says that the fat in the hip area, contrary to fat around the stomach, lowers the 'bad' cholesterol LDL and increases the level of 'good' cholesterol HDL. HDL is called 'good' cholesterol because it prevents blood vessels from calcification (Arteriosclerosis), whilst LDL remains a main risk factor related to it.

Professor Jimmy Bell from Hammersmith Hospital NHS explains: 'Hip fat produces less inflammatory Cytokines than the fat around the stomach.' Cytokines are proteins which have already been found to be associated with diabetes mellitus type 2, heart disease and obesity.

Therefore, if you can control it, make sure to stock up around your bum instead of your belly!
